A recall of packaged salads has expanded into Ohio.

The affected products include Ballard's Farm 24 oz. Amish macaroni salad, Ballard's Farm 24 oz. Amish sweet slaw, Ballard's Farm 12 oz. cole slaw and Food City 12 oz. cole slaw.

The US Food and Drug Administration said the products may include deadly bacteria.

Consumers should take the products back to the store they bought them from for a refund.

 Not again! I read this article this morning about the E. Coli Spinach outbreak::

Wild Pigs May Be To Blame For Spinach E. coli

POSTED: 8:46 pm EDT October 26, 2006
UPDATED: 8:51 pm EDT October 26, 2006

WASHINGTON -- Wild pigs may be to blame for the E. coli outbreak in spinach.

Investigators think the pigs might have trampled the fences meant to separate them from a spinach field. Once inside, they're thought to have spread deadly bacteria onto the crops.

California health officials say they've taken samples from a wild pig, along with cattle on the ranch and stream water. All come back showing the same strain of E. coli that was in the spinach that killed three people and sickened 200 others.

But no one is condemning the pigs just yet. They're still looking at three other ranches in the area to pinpoint the source of the bad spinach.
