come sunday night and monday...models hinting at a mess there in that time frame....several pre- christmas snowstorms have pounded those areas in the past...so i would keep informed!
I figure accumalating snow would be generally east of I95....in NC....ares around the central and northern Outer Banks..as well as the coastal plain from roughly a Kinston to Elizabeth City Line...
and in Virginia..... the area known as Hampton Roads/Tidewater..Including the Norfolk/Va Beach/Newport News Metro areas up through the Virginia Capes and Easten shore!
Could get interesting along the Carolina/Virginia coasts

Sunday night here in Charlotte, current forecast is 20-30% chance of rain and 31 degrees. Models also hinting at a possible event Thursday evening around these parts. Hung up front locationa s well as the low timing will be key. Plenty of cold air to pull in. I agree the coast may be to warm, but along and just west of 95 is possible.

"Classic wrap-around snows"
What portion of the east coast is susceptible to wrap-around snows? Significant wrap-around snow in the DC area is uncommon because of the subsidence associated with northwesterly flow (i.e., air subsides as it flows down the moutains).

a very favorable area for wrap around snow is southeast virginia and northeast north carolina....90% of there snow follows a heavy rain event from a coastal storm...as the system moves to the delmarva...winds shift to north and northwest...eliminating the effects of the warmer ocean and bay and it can go from rain to blizzard in just a few hours...as a long time resident of Va Beach..I have seen a Many a wrap around blizzard
