I didn't have time to post this yesterday. The Boynton Beach Mall is about 10 minutes from my home. I was just going to drive there with my sister for a gingerbread latte and some last-minute card shopping at the Hallmark store when my husband received the news from the police chief on Sunday afternoon.
The shooting may be gang-related.
Thank goodness the Boynton Beach police chose not to return fire as the suspect fled through the mall and flushed him out of Dillard's (department store) without firing, either. The mall was packed. I'm sure the whole ordeal was frightening.
Of course, some last minute shoppers were really honked off that they were evacuated and that the mall closed.
