GALE WARNING FOR NORTH EASTERN AREA
SITUATION
At 1800 UTC a Tropical Low 1000 hPa was centred within 15 nautical miles of 16.8
S 147.4 E moving east at 2 knots.
The low is expected to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 to 36
hours.
AREA AFFECTED
Within 60 nautical miles of the centre.
FORECAST
Maximum winds to 30 knots near the centre increasing 35 knots within 24 hours.
with rough seas and moderate to heavy swell.

At 0600 UTC 06 February: Within 20 nautical miles of 16.9 south 148.4 east
Central pressure 1000 hPa.
Winds to 30 knots near centre.
At 1800 UTC 06 February: Within 40 nautical miles of 17.0 south 149.9 east
Central pressure 995 hPa.
Winds to 35 knots near centre.

TROPICAL CYCLONE INFORMATION BULLETIN
For 1100 EST on Tuesday the 6th of February 2007
At 11 am EST Tuesday, Tropical Low central pressure 999 hPa
was located near latitude 16.7 south, longitude 147.6 east,
which is about 195 km east of Cairns and 190 km east northeast of Innisfail.
The low is moving east northeast at about 4 kilometres per hour and should
gradually intensify over the next 24 hours.
The low may develop into a tropical cyclone during the next 24 to 36 hours while
moving away from the coast.
This may produce gale force winds in offshore waters.
Large seas will develop along the coast during the week.
The next bulletin will be issued by 5 pm EST.
