What are your travel plans for Summer?

#1 Postby cycloneye » Sun Feb 18, 2007 8:26 am

Well, after 8 years without going,I will go to WaltDisneyworld with my family on early June. I know that I will find many new things as every year, they open something new.For example, the last time I was there,Island of Adventure park was not open.

My summer trip will consist of driving TO and FROM work

I never take a summer vacation....too hot in many places for this ol' snowman and WAY, WAY TOOOOOOOOO many people! We take our yearly sojourn in October...less people PLUS the fall colors are underway 8-)

You will enjoy Islands of Adventure. Be sure you go on the water log ride.

June - spending the month with family in Kansas and Texas.
July - I haven't planned anything yet.
August - 2 weeks on a road trip to either Mobile/New Orleans or Oklahoma City.

Not totally sure yet. There's the possibility I may be on a cruise in June, but we also have a condominium in Missouri to go to if we choose to do that.

Be sure to spend at least one day out of the city while you are there. Girona just outside the city is a great place to go and a good place to get away from the heat and tourists.

Since I'm graduating in May, I might be traveling a lot. I will at least be going to Illinois to see my girlfriend at least once. :)

With the baby, it's a quiet travel year for us.

It's not summer, but March 1 I'm going to Las Vegas for a few days for a friend's bachelor party. Mrs. Alum and the baby will stay home. In May we're all driving up to Atlanta for a few days for that friend's wedding and to visit Mrs. Alum's parents. In June we're going on a 5 day western Caribbean cruise on Carnival Inspiration out of Tampa and leaving the baby with my mother. In August we're going to Cincinnati for a week for a friend's wedding. In September or October we're going to do a quick trip to Orlando to take the baby to Walt Disney World for the first time shortly after her first birthday. Next year we will resume a more normal (for us) busy travel schedule.

Yes, gtalum stands for GT Alum, as in Georgia Tech alumnus.

One day shortly after I graduated when I joined my first internet forum I was racking my brain for a handle when it hit me. Now it's my handle on many forums. But there are some other gtalum's that aren't me out there too. :)
