GALE WARNING FOR NORTH EASTERN AREA

SITUATION
At 261700UTC, a tropical low central Pressure 1000 hPa was centred within 60
nautical miles of 12.7S 153.8E, moving west-southwest at about 5 knots. The low
may develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 to 48 hours.

AREA AFFECTED
Within 120 nautical miles of the centre in the northern semicircle, and within
140 nautical miles of the centre in the southern semicircle.

FORECAST
Clockwise winds possibly increasing to 30/35 knots after 271700UTC. Seas rising
rough to very rough.

Forecast positions
At 0500 UTC 27 February: Within 80 nautical miles of 13.2 south 152.6 east
Central pressure 1000 hPa.
Winds to 30 knots.
At 1700 UTC 27 February: Within 90 nautical miles of 13.8 south 151.9 east
Central pressure 995 hPa.
Winds to 35 knots.

nautical miles of 14.5S 153.0E, moving west-southwest at about 5 knots. Position
Poor. The low may develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 12 to 24 hours.

The next Brisbane name is Odette, the next Papua New Guinea name (if it moves north, it'll be in the PNG area) is Alu.

with several embedded lows. Main low with central pressure 998 hPa was centred
within 60 nautical miles of 14.5S 152.5E, moving west at about 5 knots. The low
may develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours.

AREA AFFECTED
Within 150 nautical miles of a line from 13.5S 149.0E to 15.0S 157.0E.

FORECAST
W/NW winds 30/35 knots north of the line, and SE/E winds 30/35 knots south of
the line. Clockwise winds possibly increasing to 35/40 knots within 120 nautical
miles of the main low in the next 12 to 24 hours. Seas rising to very rough.
Moderate to heavy NW and SE swells developing.

Forecast Position at 280600UTC 14.8S 151.3E Central Pressure 995hPa.
Forecast Position at 281800UTC 15.2S 151.0E Central Pressure 992hPa.

with several embedded lows. Main low with central pressure 998 hPa was centred
within 60 nautical miles of 16.2S 153.0E, and is almost stationary. The low
should develop into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours.

AREA AFFECTED
Within 150 nautical miles of a line from 13.5S 149.0E to 16.2S 153.0E to 16.0S
160.0E.

FORECAST
W/NW winds 25/35 knots north of the line, and SE/E winds 25/35 knots south of
the line. Clockwise winds should increase to 35/40 knots within 120 nautical
miles of the main low in the next 12 to 24 hours. Seas rising to very rough.
Moderate to heavy NW and SE swells developing.

Forecast Position at 281800UTC 16.5S 151.0E Central Pressure 993hPa.
Forecast Position at 010600UTC 16.8S 150.5E Central Pressure 988hPa.
