My first YouTube video...sort of

#1 Postby GalvestonDuck » Fri Mar 23, 2007 10:54 am

This is cool! I got myself a laptop for my birthday and I can finally capture video from other sources and edit them with Windows Movie Maker (something I've been wanting to do for a while now).

My first attempt was just to grab a video clip from a TV movie and edit it with music. It's nothing special and extremely short. I kept running into technical problems as I tried to move the music and video around to go together. But finally, I got a halfway decent edit and then just played around with some effects and stuff (but took them out because it was too short to even bother with them).

Anyway, here's my silly little first attempt. In case you're wondering, it's Dermot Mulroney and Megan Follows from the made-for-TV movie "Sin Of Innocence." You can probably tell what's happening just from the preview picture. But don't worry...it's PG. :)

*snicker* Nope, not me. When I watch YouTube, most of the time, I'm searching for "shipper" videos. That's short for "relationshipper" - fans of certain pairings from TV shows. In my case, it's stuff like George and Izzie from Grey's Anatomy, Elliot and Olivia from Law & Order: SVU, Bosco and Faith from Third Watch (dang, I miss that show), and Xena and Gabrielle (duh).

I just never got a chance to capture videos and make them before. It takes longer than I thought to capture and then save the file in the right format. It must take some of these people a long time to make these videos.

Here's the second one. (Gee, you'd think I'm a romantic, wouldn't you? )

And if anyone is wondering -- I have a copyright disclaimer on the video page.

Hey that's our Anne!!!!

Pretty cool. However, I'd have absolutely no idea how to do something like this....so I'll leave it to the experts....or novices. LOL

Thanks! It's fun, isn't it? Someone has already rated both of my videos and a couple of people have added them to their favorites list. I guess there are some Megan Follows or Dermot Mulroney fans out there who searched, found them, and like them..already. Cool! :)

Definitely post your Gator vid. You KNOW I'll want to see it. :)

Nice work. I discovered Windows Movie Maker last week and edited a bunch of clips from Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy and posted them on there. Just posted some more last night(around 80 now) and am in the process of doing more. Now I just need a TV Tuner to actually get stuff off the TV.

Yup, Mary...that's our Anne. Stunning, isn't she? :)

If I knew who Wentworth Miller was and I had some video clips of him, I'm sure I could try. :)

This is so addictingly fun!

This time, I used a bunch of editing and effects...and some scenes from "Grease." I promise...I'll stop soon. :)
