I'm not Catholic, but my father and I attended mass there while we were visiting Glorieta and Santa Fe. It's amazing in person!

A great friend and mentor of mine is from New Mexico. I've never visited, but I'd love to do it when I can. I wonder if you can still attend Mass at the church?

I shall have to post some piccies of St. Mary's and the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (Mobile, AL) at some point in the future. Beautiful places, both of them.

There was an Easter mass there but it isnt a Roman Catholic Church; the mass was conducted by the Catholic Apostolic Church of Antioch, which is an Independent Catholic Church, not under either the control or the government of the Church at Rome commonly called the Roman Catholic Church.

From the chapel website:

The Loretto Academy was closed in 1968, and the property was put up for sale. At the time of sale in 1971, Our Lady of Light Chapel was informally deconsecrated as a Catholic Chapel.

Loretto Chapel is now a private museum operated and maintained, in part, for the preservation of the Miraculous Staircase and the Chapel itself.
