We have a tropical wave moving west, a ULL spinning over Western Cuba and a frontal boundary diving south into the GOM. In addition there is some energy pushing off the coast of South America into the Southern Caribbean. I think the interaction between these features is going to cause a blowup of convection in the Western Caribbean that needs to be watched for development. I expect this to unfold over the next couple of days.

Some of the ingredients that have been known to get homespun development cranking. The northern/sheared part of that wave seemed to be where the energy was at. The southern edge may just move on into Central America or could be a spark. That, along SE Gulf are probably the places to watch.
