Buoy 42056 in the western Caribbean Sea. The only operating NDBC buoy currently operating in the Western Carib.....the other two are down. Data shows the water temp jumped 1.7F today alone. Now at 86.4F....which is the warmest it's been all hurricane season. I find this surprising. Dean and Felix passed south of 42056 buoy location which is near the Yucatan Peninsula and the gateway into southern GOM.
Where did all this warmer water come from all of a sudden?
