What is the likelihood of any storm going to the EC

#1 Postby storms in NC » Sun Sep 09, 2007 10:55 am

Will we just had a big bust with Gabby. I am talking about rain not wind. Over the waters got the rain. It was really ashame too. Cause alot of ENC really need the rain.

So I was thinking what is the odds for us to get a storm up this way again and really help out with the drought.

How it the ridge and the highs going to be set up over the next few week here?

From what everyone is saying it is a fla storm. But if they want to take the hit and we just get the after math would be fine with me. I just want rain to get this snakes to go away from my house. Can't let my granddaughter go out to play any more. Cause they are everywhere. I was lucky yesterday one went over my foot and I had no shoes on.

Even if we assume that 92L is going to develop, which is not a sure thing (though I think that it probably will) its not really possible to predict the intensity of this system. If it developes a low level circulation tomorrow, it could strengthen to significantly more than a 1 before getting to Florida, or it could develop very near Florida and impact the state as a weak tropical storm.

There's a fair chance the cold front could send 92L into north carolina.
The synoptics are confusing right now...

Us here on the Crystal Coast got anywhere from 2 to as much as 10 inches of rain as report on our local station. I got 3.74 inches today. So definitly not a bust.

From Morhead City up got the rain. We didn't get any but a few drop here and there. I am very glad someone got some. We left here yesterday about 1:30 and went fishing at North Topsail. The water was very nice till the TS passed just off shore. We could see it but didn't come in there. Over all it was a very nice day there till the winds picked up at around 5:30 and we left. The sea were getting ruff then too. Got home not a drop. I am only 50 miles from the beach by driving. maybe closer by the way the crow flys

I wouldn't guess, except to say that the westerlies are already very strong north of 33-35N (Gabrielle has taken a hard right due to them), so...
