...SOME LIGHT FREEZING RAIN IS POSSIBLE THIS MORNING...

AT 815 AM, WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED AREAS OF LIGHT FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET MOVING EAST-NORTHEAST FROM THE DULLES AREA OF FAR NORTHERN VIRGINIA. THESE AREAS WERE TENDING TO DRY OUT AS THEY MOVED TOWARD SOUTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA, SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY AND THE DELMARVA, BUT WE CANNOT RULE OUT A CHANCE OF SOME LIGHT FREEZING RAIN THIS MORNING OVER NEW JERSEY NEAR AND SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 195, SOUTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA INCLUDING PHILADELPHIA AND ITS WESTERN AND SOUTHWESTERN ENVIRONS, DELAWARE AND THE MARYLAND EASTERN SHORE.

IF ANY FREEZING RAIN DOES FALL, IT WOULD START AFTER 830 AM AND PROGRESS FROM WEST TO EAST. IT ONLY TAKES A SMALL AMOUNT TO MAKE ROADS SLICK AND CAUSE DETERIORATING TRAVELING CONDITIONS. IF YOU ARE DRIVING THIS MORNING OVER THE AFOREMENTIONED AREAS, PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL.

We actually got about 20 minutes of freezing rain today before it transitioned back into regular rain. It was cool, but there's no school do cancel anyway, even if it lasted.

I was a little nervous when I saw that forecast today. I HATE trying to drive in that.

Last winter, Pittsburgh got .1" of snow. The first 8 days of this December, nearly 6 inches of snow has fallen on the Pittsburgh region. What a difference a year makes. Now we go back to the warm side, and all that snow is going to be melted away.
