Well, I always kinda showed an interest in tornadoes when watching them on the news and such, so my mom let me watch Twister at age 4. Then I became obsessed with tornadoes. When I got hit by the 2004 hurricanes, that got me interested in hurricanes, and here I am.

Where I live it is very rare that we get tornadoes. It would be fascinating to me to see one when I travel but I have't seen one yet.

Living in the plains, weather here is huge. We see it all, with the exception of direct hurricane landfall impact. Some of us become junkies and study it where we can. Seems to be a natural part here.

It started with browsing hurricanes articles on Wikipedia. Then I picked up a copy of "The Weather Book" (look it up). It went from there, mostly.

I've always been like this. There was no one point when I started liking all weather and weather extremes.

My daddy(RIP) did this to me!!! I can not remember a time when he did not show an extreme interest in the weather. He actually quit a job so we could move to Tallahassee so he could go to met school, but he couldn't get through the math and physics required. I was so looking forward to that gig in PR too!!! Anyway, I have always, thanks to him, followed the weather and with the internet and the information it makes available the fanaticism has gotten worse.
