Something to watch in the Central Atlantic?
An interesting development has come about around 31N, 47W, around a low-level swirl has come about a recent flare-up of convection ... this area has found itself in between the westerlies and an ULL to its SSW around 21ºN, hence, UL winds are quite light as the system moves slowly SSW. There looks like a surface trough ahead of the system, and another non-tropical low developing west of the Azores.
Anyway, SST's are plenty warm enough to sustain a TC development in that region (which they are running a little bit above normal) and heading into a very warm eddy.

Hmmm, after looking at that loop many times, it just might be what is it picking up on. I had to try to decipher whether it was possibly the LLCC currently off to the west of the CV islands or the current LLS in the Central Atlantic. Looks like it is the Central Atlantic system it's picking up on.

Yes, this morning I didn't notice it but wondered what the heck the UKMET WAS keying on. I was wondering also if it was a CV wave. I got home from work and starting looking at Sat loops and bingo it caught the corner of my eye lol. I figured Lets see what the board has to say. Several heads are better then one:):)
