Have the arctic hounds been leashed?

While the Euro is quite impressive with the blasting of cold air into CONUS, the 00Z and 06Z GFS runs seem to be delaying the cold again. The majority of the GFS ensembles at 7 days and 10 days are showing that the EPAC jet will reign supreme.

So much for the GFS cold bias. After day 10 the GFS does have the arctic invasion in full swing but who knows if that will pan out. It will be interesting to see if tonight's Euro stays consistent with its building of the the western ridge which I believe will be the key to getting the pooches unleashed.

12Z GFS continues with a strong EPAC jet holding the coldest air in Canada through day 10.

I am certain that snow hounds in Cal and the west are jumping for joy about the Pac Jet, but I hate that Pac Jet with a vengeance. I want my arctic air and snow so bad, and that d@mn Pac Jet is keeping it way north of here.

We hit 29 last night, but the darn mild Pac Jet pattern keeps bashing us over the head with yet another day of 50s. Geeze! Our normal high here is about 43 degrees. Enough of that dumb Pac Jet already!!!

Where in the hell is my winter at?

I want my frigid arctic air and all my snow.
