July 26th - Midwest Heat Wave...ready for Winter!

#1 Postby Miss Mary » Tue Jul 26, 2005 6:12 pm

Sooo....I wouldn't mind snow right now...and no I haven't lost my mind. LOL

Experts....does this massive, heat wave in the Midwest indicate a severe, harsh winter (cold temps, snow)?

Just curious.....

:D Mary,

I am with you. I live in SouthWest Corner of Ohio and can't wait til winter. I don't know if this summers heat wave has impact on winter, but usually people are looking at ocean temperature and what phase it is in and if there is a la nina event.

Welcome fellow Buckeye and to Storm2K! You're right, they'll look at many factors to indicated a severe, cold winter is predicted. I'm a survivor of the infamous back to back, Ohio Valley winters of 1976-77 and 1977-78. When the Ohio River froze! For my best example.....just curious but I know I have many months to wait until that forecast comes out....

I always look forward to Winter!

I've just about had it with wearing capri's, not baking (too hot), eating corn on the cob (it is good but I long for beef stew!), sitting by the fire, etc.

And breathing in that cold air....I should just move north!

I love to shock people when they complain about the heat we've just experienced and I say - it had better snow this winter. You mention the word snow and they flip out!

I so much want to say it's different with Winter. We can dress warm and get thru the day. The recent very high temps and high humidity is just so hard on the body.....there's a big difference there!
