Very happy for all the Central, South Texans who are experiencing snow after such a long time! So cool to see such a rare event.

I honestly did not expect this. They acted like it would be all south of us today. Accumulated here less than a quarter inch. How do you post pics here? Beautiful evening!!
Edit: 0.3+ inches.

If radar is any indication it's snowing in parts of the lower Rio Grande River

Re: Texas Winter 2017-2018
I mentioned earlier in the Deep South thread and I will mention it here. NAM model has performed very well with this event. The NAM showed this accumulating snow potential deep into South Texas a few days ago. Great coup for the NAM. I also think the NAM will be close to verifying with the snow potential tomorrow over the rest of the Deep South in LA, MS and AL .

If so then we are in luck here in Baton Rouge as the NAM is predicting a nice amount! I want to watch the radar but should probably get some sleep while I can.

It's 34F and raining in Fairbanks, Alaska! Not often will you see temps in SE Texas just as cold or colder than that part of Alaska.
