The important being that it was sitting at 33/34 degree just an hour or two ago. Temps are going the wrong way.

Same here. I can't speak to the accuracy of my thermometer, but what I do know is it has dropped a degree or two from where it was. So definitely trending down rather than up.

As conditions continue to deteriorate through tonight...freezing rain and ice accumulation will become more likely. Temperatures will fall into the mid and upper 20s during the overnight hours across much of North Texas with lower 30s farther south. Significant ice accumulations in excess of 1/2" are expected on all primary and secondary roads as well as bridges from the DFW Metroplex north to the Red River and east to the Paris area. Dangerous travel conditions are expected with a high likelihood of power outages in some areas. Farther west...more sleet may mix in with the rain creating significant travel problems on all area roads. In the corridor from Comanche to Stephenville to the southern parts of the Metroplex and east to Canton...ice accumulations are expected to be around 1/4" with significant icing on primary and secondary roads and bridges. In the Waco/Temple/Killeen area and east to Mexia and Palestine... minor ice accumulations are expected mainly on grassy surfaces and trees. Elevated roads and bridges may become icy and travel could be impacted.

I see one report of 35 deg south of Hearne (NW of College Station), but it's surrounded by reports of 40 and 41 deg. Looks suspicious.

According to that NWS graphic CaptinCrunch posted, it isn't 32 yet at the Plano Municipal bldg, yet the Weatherbug at that location shows 32. Are Weatherbug stations not very accurate?

That map was posted almost an hour ago and temps have been dropping since then.

Just got back from lunch and there is ice forming on the street signs. Roads are of course just wet at this point.

Moderate freezing rain showers passing through Denison. Ice is quickly forming on windshield and exposed surfaces. Already a glaze building up. A few sleet pellets mixed in too. Here we go.

That 35 degree reading is :spam:

As I said, these stations appear to be more rural, but the trend holds. The station now reads at 33 degrees with a 37 degree nearby, and a 36 at Caldwell. These temperatures are coming in colder than forecast as a whole.

That 33 south of Hearne still looks bogus, with Hearne to the north at 41. The closest other similar temp is way north of Waco, and that report doesn't match surrounding reports, either. Hearne isn't exactly a metropolis, it's quite rural. Temps look on track per guidance.
