Just another awesome job by Spectrum Cable, interrupting tornado coverage on the local tv stations in Collin County (inside the tor warn box) to announce a Severe Thunderstorm warning 50 miles to the south in Ellis County. Local stations are giving very detailed coverage of the tor path.

Always amazes me how bureaucratic nonsense, probably lawyer driven, results in a heavy handed blanket overkill application of the Emergency Alert Notice for areas that have zero chance of being impacted by that alert. Alert takes too long to broadcast, too. Cut the siren time in half and get to the info sooner, since it gets repeated. That stupid lengthy siren for the close is worthless, can cut the length of that, too.

It probably won’t be fully settled until 2-3 days out.

Not surprised to see the severe weather that's been ongoing this morning. These type of systems always produce. Would have been a scary setup in April or May.

12Z GFS is still advertising a big storm late next week. It's further east this time but knowing the GFS' bias I bet this storm happens somewhere in the Plains and it's probably south of Nebraska too.

Been an eventful morning here in Weatherford. Woke up at 5AM due to tornado warnings going off, so I flipped on the news. Watched the Fox 4 news meteorologist follow an area of rotation directly to my location on his map and thought I might want to take cover. Hid out in my safe spot and sure enough it whipped through my property and ripped the whole roof off of our barn and destroyed my greenhouse.

Wherever Google Maps shows "Ahlers Roofing Showroom" is.

Man, some of these individual storms are flying. 65 mph forward movement up near Paris, and radar shows other cells zooming along.

I am by no means a professional. DO NOT look at my forecasts for official information or make decisions based on what I post.

Goal: to become a registered expert over tropical and subtropical cyclones.

I woke up at 3:50 AM and woke my mother up at 4 AM (She was not thrilled about it).

I was inside the Tornado Warning Polygon at 6 AM, I was so ready to run to the Storm Shelter, but the Squall Line forced it further south and east and away from us.
