Again, I think it will be close, and I think a few people will be surprised. The area im watching is west of fort worth/denton/granbury line.

The 18z GFS shows a bullseye of 8-9" near stephenville, showing areas just southwest of fort worth getting hammered. (I still believe models are struggling and currently showing some snow as *rain* over fort worth)
Stay tuned because the track could shift by 30 miles and have a huge impact on where the higher accumulations set up.

What would be the timing of potential snow if DFW? I might need to set my alarm if it is early enough. Just watching it fall would be great, it does not need to stick with borderline temps. Other opportunities will happen in the next few weeks for some major snow amounts. I hope. :D

Reporting station of the NWS Kerville reporting light snow. Verifies radar reflection from KXAN showing snow line pushing east....

Looks like tonight anytime between midnight and 6am if it's going to switch over to SN/IP

The low is chugging in an easterly direction across Texas. Seems to have a tiny half eye feature in the center? Storms west of Austin may bring us some thundersleet if they hold together.

The RAP model seems to be trending further east too... Idk how reliable that model is though?

KXAN (on fb)

Much of Central Texas, including Austin, may see sleet pellets mixing in with the heavier showers/storms coming in from the southwest.

Ground temperatures will stay well above freezing, so nothing will stick, but the air above our heads is plenty cold for the frozen stuff.

Sounds like Porta might get some!

Flooding is ongoing throughout Lindale. I think I can get out currently, but my family is stuck at home with flooding in both directions.

Looks like some strong storms are coming into Austin... just had a whole lot of heavy ice chunks fall from the sky:

Looks like the 18z GFS has almost taken the snow out of my area and kept it in the panhandle. At this point having to deal with the rain and 50 mph wind all day outside I don't even mind.
