32.5 degrees and all snow here in Frisco. It has been all snow since 11:45 when the temps were around 36. Sleet at the beginning turning over to huge flakes rather quickly...

Here is the link to my web cam and obs at weather underground if anyone is interested..
Web cam is acting up but will try to sort it out...

People in my office are starting to scurry out the door here. I may not be far behind.

Do you know of any good live outdoor cameras in the snow area? What a fun thing to watch for those of us in the near-tornado watch box!

Just got a call a few minutes ago from a Patch Study company stating that my appointment tomorrow will be delayed a few hours due to the weather event.

This is my inaugural post here.

That was in Denton about 20 minutes after it started snowing. I'll post another picture in half an hour.

Same here in Addison, had a good sleet going most of the morning, but seems to have given way to all rain over the last hour, even though the temperature has dropped.

From NOAA radar, looks like the rain from the south and snow from the west are hooking up right over DFW. Rain is winning right now in Arlington.

Reminds me of several years ago when gulf moisture was just warm enough to keep us above 32 and all rain. Any chance of that pattern repeating with this event - at least for eastern metro area?

I certainly hope not, but we've been burned on big snow forecasts in DFW proper many, many times.

It's still cranking here in Grayson County - about 2-3 inches and piling up fast. Schools dismissing early everywhere. Visibility right now is the worst it has been - only 200-300 yards at best. Hwy. 75 is a virtual parking lot with whiteout conditions and snowpacked roads.

Will try to get a pic or two up, having trouble uploading.

All indications are that this is a transition to all snow...it is not a low level cold air event...it is upper level cold....don't dispair....this snow is already earlier than they were forecasting for late this AM....

Too bad everyone hugs the models so much nowadays.....as of late last night there was barely a mention of some snow in Dallas....now it is up to a 3-5 inch forecast....

I agree, I think it's going to be a snow event eventually for the entire Metroplex. I sure hope that you snow geese in Big D get your dump too - we've got plenty to share up here.

Lived here since 1979 and this is certainly one of the most intense snowstorms I've witnessed. If it lasts into the pre-dawn hours and remains convective, we could be headed for a foot plus here in the Red River counties.

I am Guilty of -removed- for snow as charged!

32 years old, and I still get excited like a 3rd grader when it even sleets.

Meterologist Dan Henry on KDFW Channel 4 in Dallas said that roads are pretty bad in western Tarrant County and that the Metroplex could be moving into "unprecedented territory" in terms of accumulation.

Don't know if he meant for just the month of March or all-time.

Also looks like it is piling up in Denton County very quickly.
