Yup we are lol, but until then, I do see hope for rain around the 8th, models show some sort of system slowing down out to our west because of the SE ridge, CMC, GFS And Euro all eject the main storm system across north texas, but leave a piece of energy behind that leads to several days of overunning cold rain across the state, Euro even has a rain/ snow mix in central texas lol, this is for a storm system between the 8-11th ish , and its been consistently showing up in guidance

In fact even for some of the more respected mets on social media, they were calling for a warm period before the pattern shifts, seems to me we are still on track, more so expected delays than unexpected

Yeah it's going to take time for the retrogression. I was just pointing out what to look for even on ensembles, which is guidance has been rushing to the change.

Patience is running thin for me because this pushing 80s is about to kill me with the southerly flow the devil pollen, mountain cedar . For me the warmer it is in Jan and Feb the sicker I feel, literally a curse!

Just started my daily Claritin today, about 3 weeks early. The warm winds with a lack of rain are toxic. The entire region needs a rain bath in the worst way. Oh and winter can start any time.

I'm not seeing any sharply below normal temps on the 0Z EPS/12Z GEFS. Despite the -EPO. End of GEFS there is a suggestion of a cold airmass may start coming down east of the Rockies.

Rather potent signal on the EPS/ AIFS/ GEFS and GEPS for a rather far south storm system digging into west texas between the 8-12th time frame, looks like an overrunning setup which is good news for the state in regards to rain, but also looks a little chilly with ensembles suggesting some cold air in play, we will see, this is separate from the blocking pattern though

12z ensemble of the Euro no change. Basically looks u-g-l-y if you want real winter to arrive based on what we've had thus far by mid month however the Euro AI ensemble run continues to look much more favorable.
