GFS is a progressive model. It's already sending a chunk of the PV out into the Atlantic where the cold air is washed out.

We can never discount it, but don't make sense with overall pattern progression imo

The GFS will correct towards the CMC, ICON and Euro solutions, the GFS has a notorious progressive bias in which it tries ro shove everything out so fast

And that’s without snow cover. Get any of that and this is Feb 2021 territory. Send out the ERCOT Prep Alert!!!!

ERCOT already said there will likely be rolling outages if we see an event like February 2021. There is only so much preparation they can do. If it's extremely cold with no sun and frozen precip, we're gonna have major issues.

It will be better than 2021 but yeah they will hedge with that statement. The Nat Gas substations that were down for PM in 2021 won’t happen again. They moved the PM schedules.

And LOL, at the Green Feudalism movement. We will look back in a decade possibly, but certainly 2 decades, and realize how silly we were with the renewables conversation as a base load for generation…. And not only as generation but from a NatSec perspective as well. The issue is people politicians have made it a political dichotomy instead of solving this easy issue.

Someone mentioned Srain…. I miss his frequent winter posts and pragmatic takes.

I know he’s loving life in the Blue Ridge. No need to check in with us winter weather degenerates! ;)

Based on what I’ve seen and what’s been posted here, I think some are jumping the gun with all the ‘21 talk and massive power grid failures.

12z Euro EPS trended colder again. I would say 4-7 days below freezing at DFW are in the cards. Taken verbatim, it shows 7 straight freezes at DFW but does appear to have significant cold risk during that timeframe.

Winter time post are almost exclusively focused on the DFW area.

I hope we can score a winter storm in this upcoming pattern if it's going to be cold

I mean, I’m sure you’ll get one where you live.

EC and NE are getting snow now from our last system. Frz rain in Baltimore for the game. The system that will come through Monday will also bring snow the that part of the country by mid week and again the week after. They have had very little in snow so far this season.

Yeah but I was referring more towards the SE. Some chatter going on now saying after mid month the SE could get a big winter storm. That would definitely suck if they get something and we don’t.

The game at Foxboro tomorrow could be played in a blizzard.

Haha you would think that’s how it would work but it seems like every storm system just blows up and starts producing once it gets past Texas.

If that’s the case, it’ll be worth watching!

I don't think we have to worry here tbh. I know I was kind of ranting earlier but the first winter I was here all the snow was in February anyway in one storm  all January had was flakes. I am a little concerned next week could be suppressed but we'll just have to see

Eagles Giants game may also be played in the snow.
Green Bay will just be cold in the 30s.

Wildcard games will interesting to say the least
