Yeah that’s a huge push west kinda resembles that Euro run from a couple days ago.

Agree. I hope everyone prepares now.

Days before the Feb 21 outbreak became reality, I got another 1/2 chord of firewood “just in case”. Once the outbreak hit, firewood became very hard to find. With the rolling outages, I was very thankful to have prepared and bought that 1/2 chord because it kept the house from getting too uncomfortable. Right now we have about a 1/4 chord and I’ll probably buy another 1/4 this week if this keeps showing. The point is, buy firewood if you can burn it in your fireplace. Worst case you have leftover firewood.

100%. Our fireplace saved us from getting too cold back in 2021. Look like I’ll be cutting wood this week..

GFS tries to send cold but it's doing its best to wind the cold up in the exiting storm centering over the Lakes.

News just mentioned dangerous cold possibly

TWC has me below freezing for 5 days. That would be worse than Christmas 22 but nothing close to February 2021

GFS finally sends some cold air through, Oklahoma is pretty much below freezing as it was trying to hold up the air. It's still deciding which pieces breaks a chunk of the cold air mass. Canadian is taking longer than ICON but it's pooling severe cold in the west and eventually surges down.

I notice it has the lows starting to dig south could be big for winter weather potential in the state.

Dodge City on the CMC goes from single digits to 40s then back to below 0 in like a day.

Garbage run by the GFS, i cant wait until the short range models come into range, they are going to be so much more reliable

Ensembles have been fairly consistent folks and have trended colder with time. Being that we're 7 days out, operationals are clearly still in flip flop range.

I blame heat miser for this, he's trying everything he can do to sabotage the models so they can torch more and hold off the cold. :spam:

Winter 2020-2021 :cold:

All observations are in Tecumseh, OK unless otherwise noted.

Winter posts are focused mainly for Oklahoma & Texas.

Take any of my forecasts with a grain of salt, refer to the NWS, SPC, and NHC for official information

Just watched channel 8 news it’s almost annoying how they try to go out of their way to downplay the cold. No mention it could be worse just a this is winter nothing crazy.
