Both the 00Z EC & FV3 GFS backed off on the cross-Polar flow around day 10. What cold, they say? FV3 is colder than the Euro, though, and has some sleet down to the central Gulf Coast (not TX). Euro at that same time has the Gulf Coast in deep, warm southerly flow.

Well, time to head into the office. Stupid TS is developing east of the Philippines. Doesn't it know it's Christmas?

Merry Christmas, all!

Yikes! I hope it’s not as bad as that sounds! When will we know which it might be?

As of now it's looking more like a large hail, high wind threat and maybe less so on the tornado side of things. HOWEVER ... I would stay up on latest forecasts. You know severe weather in Texas always has a few curveballs.

Merry Christmas to all! Mild Christmas day this year.

We'll have to wait till this weekend when low 40s for highs is what we got on Saturday.

I love the snow, but I hate the cold. We could well see some snow in Houston this Jan/Feb. Pattern is right.

northjaxpro wrote:Here is a quick FYI for.any Texas A&M Aggies fans on this forum who are making the jourmey over here to Jacksonville for the New Year's Eve Gator Bowl game match-up against the N.C. State Wolfpack.

As it stands right now, NWS WFO is calling for mostly cloudy skies with a 30% chance of rain, with temperatures Monday night in the low.60s by the start of the game. The Southeast ridge will keep a cold front stalled out just north of the Jax metro region through New Year's Day. Temps will be mild.

So for the Aggie fans coming to the game, have a safe trip and welcome to Jacksonville. Hope you all have a great time while you are here and ringing in 2019 immediately after the game!!

Thank you northjaxpro. We fly out Sunday!

Merry Christmas S2k family!! I feel honored to be a part of such an awesome group of weather enthusiasts and promets!

Have an awesome and safe Christmas and New Years holiday!

It's 72 degrees at 3pm in SA. Not bad, but I'd rather it be chillier for Christmas. My dad had to turn on the AC with about 15 of the family members here.

Ah well, good family time.

Maybe I need to find some covered parking for my car..... time to shovel out the garage again!

I’ve said it before...I will grant you that when snow is not in the cards, today’s weather is the next best option for Christmas Day. I had 22 at my house today, including 10 kids, so having outdoor play as an option is sanity-preserving.
