$100 to $200, a trophy, and bragging rights (and a very warm last half of the winter, hot spring, and hot summer). ;-)

Long-range ECMWF does indicate quite a bit of above-normal temps in western & northern Canada, which should prevent any extreme cold moving south to TX. Unfortunately, the East U.S. trof doesn't spell warmth for TX. Weather that's too cold for bike riding but too warm for snow will continue for a while.

My total rainfall for 2015 was 79.93". That's the most I've ever recorded, by far, in the last 30+ years.

Oh, and I officially won the office 2015 forecast contest by quite a margin. Though I don't need any more warm days, I'd sure like to see some...

wxman57 you're getting just what you deserve.Old Man Winter and Mother Nature could not have been pleased at your post on this forum alluding to the fact that you and your evil heat machine had control over the weather here in SE TX.Your payback has just begun. :D

@BigJoeBastardi: There is still reluctance to believe what looks to be a classic set up for severe cold overwhelming east and south week 2/3.

Plenty cold here and a strong storm signal in the same timeframe... I could careless about arctic air if we can get a winter storm out of this:

Storm signal is strong. But the models are not set on 5h vorticity just yet, if something phases. We'll probably watch the signal move up in time as the days pass. Right now track cluster from Ensembles is spread among the southern plains into the mid South

Some EC ENS runs develop a widespread winter storm laying snowcover in Oklahoma, Some in North Texas, and even one or two near the I-10 corridor of the state. Then of course you have the EC Control. All out snow blitz for Central and North Texas into E Texas. Regardless where wintry weather threats should continue between the 10th and 20th of this month.

:uarrow: Bastardi won't like that. As for phasing and snow.. only eastern parts of the state would like that perhaps.... I don't want phasing.. split flow is more likely to produce winter precip for central Texas and points west.

Longer range models are colder, but dry if and when cold air comes in... Except for the panhandle, none of the models indicate snow during the medium to long range at this time.

I want cold and snow now. Towards the middle of the month it is looking more and more likely. December was a total wasted month weather wise(sorry wxman57). JFM need to bring the goods to Texas. I have a good feeling things are going to go our way. Looks like some late night model and storm watching are in our future.

Holy moly, the blocking pattern being seen on the models is something we havent seen in some time. Goodness that is going to bring down alot of cold air. Hopefully it connects with Siberia and we can get some trans polar flow.

The change is a coming.

Today I found about 6 pieces of torn tar paper and pieces of insulation in my yard. I also noticed many pieces of tar paper when walking thru our neighborhood. Considering we're about 2 miles, across Ray Hubbard from where the Rowlett tornado passed, I wonder if this is debris?

I found tar paper in my yard this week also. I was worried that it came from my roof, but it didn't. I'm near Addison, but the Ovilla tornado circulation went right over us.
