It looks like the flash flooding threat is increasing across DFW as storms are streaming over the area well out in advance of the cold front.

On radar, the storms producing this incredible lightning aren’t overly impressive, but there is a lot of electricity with them.

DFW has passed 53" for the year. 2nd place should fall in the next hour as heavy storms move through the area and 2018 passes 53.54".

I’m jealous lol the weather here is boring and disgusting. If it’s gonna rain, then freaking rain! Nothing but drizzle here which is just a nuisance.

How many rounds will there be? :double:

scattered storms on and off through early evening then likely a big line towards late evening/midnight which would end the threat

Thanks, looks like the lightening is starting around me now, my dog just climbed under the covers, and he is a lot bigger than he thinks he is lol.

A belated Merry Christmas to Storm2K regulars and guests! Work, illness, family commitments, and my daughter’s wedding have made December 2018 a very busy month!

Lots of Red River Valley rain, lightning, and thunder tonight on this Dec. 26th. Not like 2015 (tornado threat), but definitely a noisy evening.

All of this happening as I listen to a few more Christmas songs like Bing Crosby crooning right now that it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

I guess thunder and lightning are some of the new sights and sounds of Christmas outside my North Texas front door! That doggone WxMan57. It doesn’t seem like that many years ago that old Bing was crooning about snow on Christmas (Christmas Eve 2009 and Christmas Day 2012).

You know I’m kidding WxMan57! :D

Skinny line of storms to the west is not impressive. Frankly, the stuff over DFW is stronger. So much for severe weather. Loving the thunder and rain though.
