And for Friday afternoon... thats good southerly flow ahead of a weak trough. It also shows sunshine for that day. Should be pretty warm...

Currently a heavy, wet snow shower with a temperature of 33 F. Nothing is accumulating, but it's cool to look at. It's amazing what evaporative cooling can do. And if you read the NWS discussion, some places along Hood Canal above 500 feet have seen 4 inches of snow.

Yes... but there is even less snow than I thought in the lowlands around Kitsap. Snow at 800 feet (Lake Cushman) is much more common than snow at sea level. That is not even a noteworthy event.

On the radar... it looks like you have a brief enhancement there Anthony. But the web cams confirm your comment that nothing is accumulating.

Well just got home from work. Started out as a mix of rain and snow at the golf course (course elevation ranges from 100-250FT and is 1/4Mile from Puget Sound). Then around 8:00AM the precip got heavier, and turned to all snow, big huge flakes, then after that it alternated between mixed and all snow. Now at home (my elevation is 500FT and 7 miles east from puget sound) its all snow falling at the moment, with a very light slushy accumuation on the vehicles that have been sitting in the driveway. Here are the rest of my current conditions......

(Also TT, you can't go by some of those road cams, expecially the Hood Canal cam, that is at SEA LEVEL) It sounds like all areas there with any elevation have snow on the ground.

Looks like the GFS has been trending colder and colder from day 9 on. We shall see. I still don't see any warm temps from now though day 16. 850MB Temps never make it out of the minus range.
Also the PNA will trend towards positive, but the last couple of days the trend has been less and less positive. Today most ensembles show it hovering around neutral for the most part! I think we will be flirting with winter weather for the next several weeks. Where it will go, nobody knows but I see no big ridge for a long time along the west coast!!!

This link shows even out on the coast got a little slushy accumulation on the side of the road, near Aberdeen

Precip has stopped and we received no accumulation. But it was cool to look at...albeit it lasted 30 minutes. Just a sign that winter's not done. No location at sea level received snow...even along the Kitsap Peninsula and Hood Canal. Just not enough cold air in place to begin with. But places above 500 feet along the Hood Canal have over 4 inches. For the rest of the Puget Sound, snow level is hovering between 700-1200 feet...depending on the intensity of the shower overhead. Hopefully Snoqualmie and Stevens pick up another 6-10 inches from this storm. That's where they really need the snow.

The long range GFS model indicates an interesting pattern developing after Sunday, Feb. 13...I guess only time will tell.

Currently cloudy conditions with a temperature of 37 F.

Brennan,

Looks as if you're getting a little arctic outflow from the Fraser Valley. Lucky dog!! I'm surprised by this...no forecast mentioned this happening. You've got plenty of precip hanging around so keep checking back in...report how much snow you get. Looks as if another heavy round of precip is about to approach the Everett area from Hood Canal...hopefully this shower is heavy enough to drag colder air down to the surface and bring back the wet snow.

Hey guys... It is 32* and snowing heavy here at my house... The grass is just white but I think it's going to get better... I went up in elevation about 500 feet to the Water District here by Lake Whatcom and there is easily 3 inches of snow... i think I just might spend the rest of my day up there... I'll check back in in a little bit.

We have a moderate rain/snow mix...but you must realize I only live two miles away from the water and my elevation is 125 feet. I wouldn't be surprised if Bellingham/Blaine received 6 inches from this storm. There's abundant moisture mixing with cold air...perfect recipe. Bellingham always HOGS the snow!!! Not fair!!

Anthony

Currently 35 F with a mix of rain and snow.

Man, do you realize if temperatures were 2-3 degrees cooler, this would have been a major lowland snow event...4-8 inches uniformly. Really sucks. It's amazing what the mild ocean influence can do to our snow threats. Oh well.
