I think that the Pensacola/Mobile areas wont see much snow until about 2 pm. and I doubt that the totals will be near as high as we thought. it looks like 850 temps didnt cool as much as the models said they would.

up here in N GA and AL, it looks like moisture is starting to stream NE. Radar shows snow expanding and intensifying in that direction. FFC should expand the winter storm warning if these trends continue.

Gee thanks for the positive attitude, I hope you get your snow. We are still keeping fingers crossed here, despite everything.

If things werent looking good for my area I would say so. I post here to try and give the most accurate information I can. Not fuel people's hope for a major weather event. anyway you will probably see a couple inches down there, what more do you expect for the gulf coast area when it comes to winter weather?

I agree, those ridiculous totals we saw yesterday for the coast ain't gonna happen. But I still feel confident even the immediate coast will see snow.

Up here, somewhere close is going to get a half a foot. Mark it down. Still waiting for the first flakes but it's coming. There is tons of moisture to the west.

I wish WKRG was streaming on their website because they have been showing some amazing scenes of snow just 15-20 miles from Mobile. The snow is really coming down in places like Mount Vernon, Citronelle, Perdido, Little River, etc. And they are starting to get reports of road problems in those areas because it is a "Slush-fest" there (as one of the reporters called it).

No snow yet in west Biloxi, still getting rain. Our local MET here at WLOX-TV 13 said early this morning that our area is still forecasted to receive "some" snow. WKRG TV5 was reporting that snow was falling N of Mobile. I called my uncle in Magee, MS about an hour ago who had to rub it in, he said "Boy I've got 6" on the ground and it's still fallin', it's so pretty." I bet it is.

I took a detour up Highway 45 this morning on the way to work. Rain turned to snow around Chunchula. The snow and homicidal drivers increased quickly from that point north, with probably an inch on the ground soon after it changed.

So far we have about 4 inches of snow on the ground. Looks to be winding down. Probably be done by 10 am. Bout an inch of slush on the road.
All in all, I think the NWS did a pretty good job with their forecast for our area. Although we didn't get the 6-9 inches they were calling for, we got a lot of snow.
