TeamPlayersBlue ... I'm glad you're not texting/posting and driving! I was going to say ... DUDE ... don't do that!

Be safe going back. There are reports of icing on I-10 in Sealy and Brookshire too.

We went to a Christmas lights drive-thru lighting in Roundrock this evening and hit drizzle on windshield in spots on Tollway 45. Temperature on car showed 28 degrees.

It never reached 30 degrees here today at the Weatherdude Center (29.8 degrees was highest temperature to be exact). :cold:

Had a feeling about outdoor faucets when it stayed below freezing for over 24 hours with a constant breeze/wind. Noticed one of my outdoor exposed faucets would not turn on. Poured hot water over it and it worked within seconds (PHEW!). I wrapped faucet in a big towel. Will check again tonight before bed to reduce/aleve fears of pipes bursting.

QPF has been increasing with each of the various model runs today and particularly across the Southern half of Texas.

Hey TeamPlayersBlue, just saw that the Highway 71 bridge in Bastrop has been re-opened. Apparently there was an accident caused by the ice which is why they shut it down. It has just been re-opened.

Yes, that's what I was noticing; especially on the past couple runs of the NAM and SREF.

The RAP appears to be depicting some light freezing rain/drizzle for South central Texas tonight into tomorrow. The accumulations are very small but I imagine even .05 inches of ice could cause some issues in that area

We no longer need models for that. It's been confirmed by ground truthers all over the place tonight, including where I'm at. On another note, I have been looking at all the recent NAM runs as well & noticed increased QPF over south, central, east, & southeast TX from about 3PM-3AM Monday-Monday night.

Austin Police now reporting a 10-12 car accident in the far east reaches of city limits due to icing on roadways. Yeah ... it doesn't take much at all for chaos to ensue. I just went outside and the light mist continues to fall and car windshields/exposed objects now have a light glaze of ice on them,

I'm stuck on 71 right now. 111 miles outside of Houston. To a dead stop. No clue why. Ice is all over the car at the moment and it's 31. Light misty drizzle. Roads are still ok but I'm sure they will get worse in no time.

If you are west of Bastrop, you're stuck because of the residual backups from the bridge being closed. Previous accident.

APD has closed the upper deck of I-35 in downtown Austin due to icy road conditions. Sheesh ... things are going downhill quickly here.

TeamPlayersBlue, I'm not sure what exactly the issue is out there. I just checked the TxDOT road condition site and nothing specific is mentioned. However, reports I'm seeing on Twitter indicate that icing along parts of Highway 71 is being reported close to La Grange. Unfortunately for you it may be slow going tonight. Be safe

Just drove from Columbus to Weimar and there is ice on bridges on I-10 and Hwy 90 and the state is sanding bridges. There was a 20 car wreck at I-10 Colorado River bridge (Columbus) and there are numerous wrecks on I-10 from Columbus to Schulenburg. Parked vehicles are accumulating ice.
