I think the issue is that people will pipe off on social media and TV mets take a beating when they get it "wrong."

There is no need for TV mets or other professionals to make sly comments about people in a weather board having fun.

They could say rely on weather from professional sources and take social media posts cautionary. No need to flat call us out.

0.15 mile visibility and 47mph gusts at Elkhart airport. That's a blizzard. Liberal Kansas 56mph and snowing.

Raw output is definitely trending colder. I noted some posts ago that the cold is now settling into Canada, the trend will be telling soon as that piece is on the table.

Looking like we have a legit shot at a burst of snow in the morning after it trended away from us the last couple days

That will be our third setup in the last 2 weeks not bad

So then why are professionals balking at it? They don't want to eat crow?

It seems there are amateurs like us who are all in, some pros, are too, then there are TV mets.... meh

My local Mets are basically doing this. They have a high in the upper 30s/lower 40s for this cold. It’s like, dude cmon..

Not looking likely on the precipitation front but boy is it going to be cold. Snow definitely makes the cold worth it though!

After our summer I’ll take any type of cold whether it’s dry cold or snow and ice and be happy.

They all run at 9:30pm central time. The GFS as well.

Thanks. I am familiar with the GFS and Euro but wasn't with the other two.

Yeah there's people on social media here wanting to go back to summer... I will pass  did we forget how bad it was already? I thought it was never going to get cold at times tbh

And I haven't seen a single bug lately either

It’s so funny looking at weather apps going crazy with this cold air

One has my location at 50 on Sunday for a high then dropping to 12 then rebounding to 48 again then back to 11 for a low

This wind is atrocious. :flag:

Ripped the metal roof off the building behind me.

I recorded a 41mph gust 8ft off the ground on my station....

My house is shaking. Glad I got a new roof with an upgrade about a year ago.

Edit: Just hit 43mph at 9:07PM

SHV even has given in to things switching to snow across their area Monday. They are normally very conservative with winter weather so that says something.

No joke! We’re at 35 sustained and 53 gusts. I hope my outbuilding roofs stay put.

We have 40 mph sustained winds and gusts up to 59 quite often out here. It’s pretty insane.
