0z ICON starts the precipitation (sleet and/or freezing rain) midday Weds that changes to snow overnight into Thursday morning. All while below freezing.

00z icon is advertising an ice/sleet storm transitioning into a significant if not major snow storm sroek begins at 87hrs and ends at 114 that's 27 hours

Early trends on the 00z GFS are towards the Euro. Now to see what it delivers as we head into Wednesday.

Winter time post are almost exclusively focused on the DFW area.

It dominates with the northern stream so still a no go but there are changes. At 5H the GFS is becoming the more inconsistent model, despite similar surface outcomes.

Lol it's going to be snowing here and the GFS will still be showing the system s/e of us lololol

I felt like early run trends were in our favor but then it does this... In the end it ended up looking more like the 18z FV3 than the 12z Euro. Also, very different than the 12k NAM :double:

reminds me when the GFS had no freezes and we were below freezing :roflmao:

NWS forecast for Fischer in Comal County

Tuesday Night: A chance of rain before midnight, then a chance of rain or freezing rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. North wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Wednesday: A chance of rain or freezing rain before noon, then a chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 39. North wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Nino years are typically rain or snow and nothing in between. The only exception I can think of is the late February 2003 sleet storm.

if there's gonna be a storm it will likely be over/near DFW

but there's a chance it could be dry and nobody gets snow to me that's how it will bust if it busts, it won't be rain instead, it'll just be dry

The GFS and now its ensembles arent very enthusiastic about this event tonight, european will be interesting...

the 0z Euro looks like a go again... frozen precip overspreading from the south Wednesday morning

again snowing in DFW Wednesday evening
