I would gladly trade out the extreme dry cold for a blizzard like 09.

I think we have ample time to work on precipitation and if this turns into a long duration event, that would really increase the chances we could see something. Also, I keep hearing February looks cold too.

If this is how cold the models are depicting with no precip (yet), I don’t want to know what these temps would look like with snow/ice cover…

I was thinking the same thing and I honestly think it would even be colder than 21.

0z Euro is coming in faster with cold. It doesn't look like much of a warm up post Friday's system.

This has been my expectation. It just didn’t make sense with the arctic air.

Has the arctic front crossing into the TX panhandle by Saturday morning. Big jump forward from the 12z.

It also continues to be stronger, more amped with the west coast system than GFS. Probably gonna brew a winter storm again.

Early on 1040s in W-Can. upper 1050s around the Beaufort Sea. I'm not too concerned about HP in this set up. This is TPV displacement, the heavy, dense cold will pool with that. This is all about the vast area of dense, cold surface air.

Euro is slower with the system, major winter storm with the onset of deeper arctic air.

That 00z Euro is impressive… but would be afraid for the grid with that kinda storm.

We’ll have to see how the ensembles look after that run.

10:1 that's 4-10" of snow for the region, not including the colder temp profiles.

Euro doesn't have the immediate cold shot after like the other OPs. Warms up late week.

Buuuut...the blocking up north is ridiculous. More cold pooling in Pac NW.
