Looks quite promising as we are approaching within 12-24 hours time frame

lol and it looked quite promising we would get nothing 12-24 hours ago.

P.S. I have to be negative so I won't be disappointed.

That's fair. Should this happen it would be the first white Christmas for north Texas in a long time, probably longer than any of us have been alive.

HAVE UPDATED THE TAFS TO INCLUDE THE MENTION OF SNOW IN THE METRO
TAFS FROM 15 TO 20Z. MODELS CONTINUE TO INDICATE THE UPPER LOW
MOVING FURTHER SOUTH AND THIS WILL BRING SNOW TO THE AREA. THIS
WILL MAKE TRAVELING VERY HAZARDOUS GIVEN THE STRONG WINDS
EXPECTED BEHIND THE FRONT.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO 4 PM CST
THURSDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FORT WORTH HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WARNING FOR SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT
FROM 6 AM TO 4 PM CST THURSDAY.

A POWERFUL WINTER STORM WILL MOVE ACROSS NORTH TEXAS OVERNIGHT AND
INTO THURSDAY MORNING. A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH
DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS WITH AREAS OF RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS
TRANSITIONING TO AREAS OF SNOW DURING THE MORNING HOURS ON
THURSDAY. AREAS GENERALLY FROM EASTLAND TO MINERAL WELLS TO
SHERMAN WILL HAVE THE BEST CHANCE FOR ACCUMULATING SNOWS INTO
THURSDAY AFTERNOON. WHILE GROUND TEMPERATURES MAY BE AT OR ABOVE
FREEZING FOR MOST OF THE DAY...STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS OF 25 TO 35
MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS WILL RESULT IN SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF BLOWING
SNOW ACROSS THE WARNING AREA. NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WITH
SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION IN VISIBILITY DUE TO BLOWING SNOW WILL BE
POSSIBLE ACROSS THE WARNING AREA...
DESPITE THE LACK OF SIGNIFICANT
ACCUMULATIONS. THIS WILL LEAD TO DANGEROUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS
ACROSS PARTS OF NORTH TEXAS.

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT WINTER WEATHER IS EXPECTED
ACROSS THE WARNING AREA. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR
IMPOSSIBLE. EXTREME CAUTION IS ADVISED IF YOU MUST TRAVEL.

I have a gut feeling, the warnings might expand further east along the I-20/I-30 counties north.

I'm going put my weather rock outside. If it has snow on it tomorrow, then it'll snow. ;)

Thanks for the updates folks. And msstateguy83 has been bold on this since last week. If this pans out, I think some serious cred is flowing his way. ;)

This system it's bringing it a little further south as has been the trend which is why we're under a WWA now. It hasn't updated to next week yet, still waiting.

If current model track and slowing down of upper low continue, DFW could see up to 6 inches of snow along with near Blizzard condictions

The Dallas Fort Worth area they're calling for up to one inch, so I'd say 1 inch, and possibly more, possibly less.
