Now that Colin has dismissed the rest of winter as mild and snowless, I guarantee the cold and snow is coming. 8-)

I'm enjoying my rain, heck, I might plant the flowers soon!

these abrupt swings in pattern are going to be very common this winter...

What abrupt swings in pattern are going to be common this winter?

What you are really trying to say is that mild weather dominated by the Pacific Jet will be common this winter.

That makes much more sense. Abrupt swings my @ss!!! That d@mn Pac Jet will never stop pushing that mild air over Virginia!!! Abrupt swings!! Abrupt swing into summer maybe at the end of April, but there won't be abrupt swings this winter. Not in the East anyway, just more of the same.......Pac Jet continues to hose down the West.............Record rains in California drown over 10,000 persons by late March..........Ski resorts in the West rendered utterly inaccessible by dozens of feet of snow...........35th Pac storm in a row slams the Pac Northwest as Seattle residents struggle to dig themselves out of 4 feet of snow...................Record mild winter on the East Coast has people out in shorts and t-shirts...........Oil industry takes a major hit as oil demand reaches record winter lows in East..........

.........and the broken-record drones on...........partly cloudy here in Washington, DC.......highs expected in the mid to upper 50s with lows in the 40s.......chc of rain in a day or two, may be heavy at times.......record rains in North Carolina result in declarations of Federal Disaster Areas in 15 counties in that state........on and on and on and on and on and on and on........it all depends on where you live.......if you live in a ski resort in the west this winter and you are a snow hound you are in for the winter of your entire life! If you live in the east like me and you like snow...........gosh, I don't even want to try to think about it.............

Abrupt pattern changes this winter.....Hah!!! It'll never happen. We had one abrupt pattern change, and that was from very cold and snowy in mid December, to mild and Pac Jet dominated now, for the next 2, maybe three months............

Abrupt pattern change, my foot!

-JEB---Snowless, MILD, and Pac Jet-dominated all winter. If the SE Ridge don't get you, the Pac Jet will..................................
