That would be the dry slot that the RUC model was talking about.

Moderate sleet coming down again here in southern Midlothian. No more flakes though.

Well -- check that.
We just went over to all snow in about a 2 minute time frame. Not kidding. Light to moderate - HUGE FLAKES. Radar shows only rain - but I can confirm it's snow. Getting my iPhone ready.

It's now snowing/ raining no more sleet, how weird. I haven't seen this kind in awhile it's half rain, and then you'll see a burst of these huge flakes coming down out of nowhere.

Yep, but I don't think anybody north of I-20 will get dry slotted...at least at the moment.
As for the post about moisture wrapping around the low's backside, check out a radar loop and notice the heavier stuff wrapping in towards the Abilene area from the NNE.
Also, while I know Intellicast's radar isn't the best, it's showing radar returns almost to FORT STOCKTON at the moment. Trust me folks, that's a long, long, long way from North Texas!
Bottom line, there's still a long time IMO before this storm winds down...

Hahahaha - back to sleet again with some flakes. I guess I am in transition zone?

And now ----- BACK TO SNOW. Watching the kids get excited and upset back and forth. Kinda entertaining.
I'm -removed- with them for at least an inch.

In between Duncanville, and Grand Prairie, it's technically Dallas, though.
It just went from all rain, to mostly snow, now it's back to a mix. It's changing so fast, it's impressive.

I think you're right. Looks like the transition line is roughly from Nocona and down towards the Parker/Tarrant County line.
Also looks like SW Oklahoma north of Wichita Falls (Lawton back to Altus) is getting POUNDED. Would love to know what the snowfall rates are there right now.

On the front end of this storm, pretty impressive severe weather outbreak overnight.
I was up much of the night and the tornado warnings were rolling off the NWS wire in eastern Texas, Louisiana, and even one or two in Arkansas. Still a warning or two up in Louisiana. Hope there wasn't much damage caused by those storms.
Just an amazing storm system, and if it bears the snowfall fruit we're all hoping it does, we could talk about this for years to come here in N. Texas and southern Oklahoma...

lol that is some of the wettest nastiest snow ever, I made the mistake of looking up into the sky and got pelted by big wet snowflakes. Felt like a Llama spat on me.

I'm on the board paddling to the waves, but I'm not surfing yet.

Is it me or does the snow seem to be falling apart as it hits the Denton county line?

Bad radar? Anyone have a better one?
