This is showing a spin to the shortwave in southwest/south central New Mexico in the last couple frames.

Portastorm, I'm gonna go with the 'expect the worst and hope for the best' attitude as well. Sure do like hearing about an arctic plunge and a cut off low, just for discussion sake!
I apologize for the torture but the this radar shows much of the same also! (oops for got it was Sunday's)
No seriously, you should keep an eye out for that stray flake today!
Yeah I remember you saying that would be your last radar post for archival purposes. I decided to let it slide. Thanks for bringing it back to my attention. You and I both know its too dry for any flakes tonight. Plus, a few flakes wont really get me my fix.

. If I ever see good snow chances for anyone in TX, I'll be the first to hype it
But everyday, every hour, every minute Wacowx has to see the snow just blip on by....LOL

Hmm I could make that one radar late Feb where Waco had 3 inches! But sadly I didn't save that one *whistles*. Weird huh?

Am I reading this right? Does the 12Z GFS and NAM has some snow showing up for NTX (NE TX) starting now? I just looked at Twisterdata.com Am I seeing things correctly? What's up with that? The RUC is showing some precip just to our NW from 0-12hrs..........

Re: Texas Winter 2010-2011
Bout to be "Weather Smackdown 2011" up in here.
But seriously, that 3 inches was more like 1 and didnt cancel a darn thing. Work and school went on as usual, except for some 10 am starts NW of here. Its hard looking out the window at work knowing you can go make a snowman/ball/angel and not being able to do it.
(edit: I'm fascinated with that radar loop.)

My best guess is that Rockwall hit 32 around noon on Sunday. So using that timeframe, we haven't been above 32 since that time. And I doubt we rise above 32 by noon tomorrow. So that would be 4 days below 32. Impressive.

Not from new snow. The snow you see is already on the ground for the areas that got some sunday. East and northern areas haven't fully melted. Models account for snow cover already in place also.

Yep we still have quite a bit of snow on the grassy areas. It is fun to look at.

Is there any chance that this storm will make some snow over us? There are more returns on the radar and sat images looks like there s some stuff blowing in. Just curious..........

Very unlikely, lucky spots somewhere might but the dew points are extremely low relative to temps meaning the lower levels are dry. Anything that tries to fall will burn into oblivion faster than the particle impacts at the hadron collider! + the storm is being squashed by a 1040mb high ouch.
