Yes it was...Hook Em'!!

Next system in the chamber just popped up....FV3 has another system for us to track for next weekend. Hopefully, the Euro latches on as well!

Right on cue. Likely another where we will have to thread the needle. After that one though the real cold should settle in ahead of subsequent storms which will begin the long awaited mid Jan through Feb six weeks of frequent snow chances.

The difference between the NAM and the Euro in OKC is crazy... NAM barely has any snow, Euro has a foot just west  and this is coming after their massive bust a few weeks back

Not much to see in most of DFW for the Euro

The difference between the ARW and NMM vs the ARW2 is insane. The former models show the snow potential and there might be a surprise in store(especially on the ARW). The ARW2 say no, not only will the surface be warmer, the whole column will be warmer too. It's likely because the ARW2 is Waaaaay Slower than any of the other Wrf models.

We are in now cast range now. Temps are right at or a tad cooler than modeled along the freeze line. The 33/33 degree area is huge so any additional CAA could be huge. The most interesting thing to watch today is how much of any temps warm during the afternoon today. The less top down cooling required by the upper low for snow the better on Thu.

Freezing rain here at the house in FTW, car has a glaze on it already :ggreen:

Since I work right at the I30/I35 interchange in FTW it should be interesting to see how well it holds up this morning.

Snow tomorrow in the DFW metro? I think so, about an inch is possible.

Nothing frozen here near the airport. 2 degrees away from ice though. Give me some snow, I can do without the freezing rain.

Hwy was fine coming in, lite traffic was good. Trees have a coating of ice on them as do vehicles, my work truck here has a solid coating with ice cycles off side mirrors.

It says 31 here on the hill next to the 35/30 interchange, highs today will not get above 35 and think the models are a few degrees to warm.

A quote from the DFW scanner Facebook page: " Lots of icy bridges across portions of Tarrant County and Denton County! A mix of rain and freezing rain is causing problems, especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses. Travel carefully!"

Will we get above freezing today northwest of the DFW Metro?

Temps falling to just above 32 at some N. Dallas locations. It was supposed to warm up today. Still could. I think DFW is 33.

The freezing line is pushing further east than modeled. It is now just west of a Paris to Greenville to Waco to Austin line.

I don't know if anyone warms up today here in Durant at 6am we were at 32f with a dewpoint of 26 now at 915 freezing rain has begun and we are at 30f with a dewpoint of 28 I thought the warm layer above would bring down enough warm air to stop the wet bulb process from having an impact but in areas north of DFW this is not happening and RGEM as well as the nam are forecasting dangerous ice totals .25 or higher

The Euro is running 3+ degrees warm this morning. This has a huge impact and I agree that it does not seem like there will be much warming at least not until after lunch. This evening and tonight could get rough in DFW if trends continue.
