There are disturbances in the southern jet that provides overrunning weds-thurs. This is likely the time for icing. The main upper level low comes through Friday, mostly snow per the run

The trend so far has been for the initial wave to be bigger with more precip, now it is still 6 days out so a lot of things can change, but at least so far it's been good trends for DFW.

It's kind of hard to not get excited about these model runs at this point. It's getting closer to that timeframe. The models are actually in pretty good agreement for once. I may be too early, but im definitely starting to get excited. :D

Meanwhile the CMC totally lost the cold air and has temperatures well into the 60s next Friday when it's snowing on the GFS/Euro..

It cuts off most of the UL energy from the main jet in the Pacific Northwest...a move that was bound to occur from our Crazy Uncle at some point. Something to monitor but not a trend at this point

Maybe that's the only model Wxman 57 could get his hand on today to play with?

So what are the models saying for us folks south of San Antonio. Just a cold rain?

I'd take a cold rain over the last week of March/April like humidty and wind we've "enjoyed' since Christmas eve.

And our Farmers would take it just about now to get that soil moisture in the ground for planting season.

Yeah, its a great lakes trough vs western trough with a ridge in the rockies. Night and day, I highly doubt that with a -PNA. Something it seeing to create the +PNA? JB would love that scenario, east coast blockbuster on the cmc

Yes, just a cold rain. GFS showing three rain-making systems (albeit with low qpf) in the next 10 days so that could be a good thing for many of us. About 0.5-1.0" of precip for areas south of SAT.

There are a lot of GEFS (most actually) members that have a swath of snow in Texas clustered near i-20. Some members go all out with 6+" in the higher range. The means heaviest is several inches in the northeast quarter of the state. Euro is running lets see what it says

I think euro will hold steady, cold front on the way before energy out west kicks out.
