snow_wizzard wrote:Andy...I am so glad that you asked that. I sell weather instruments on eBay as part of a home business. This particular unit is manufactured by Lufft and is guaranteed accurate within 2% on humidity.

If anyone is interested in weather instruments my user name on eBay is weatherwise.

By the way, I just saw that the dew point on Stampede Pass is 15 and that is where the wind comes from here.

Wow snow-wizzard...that's really cool that you do that. How long have you been selling weather insturments on e-bay? Maybe you can post a pic of here on the site? -- Andy

Andy...I wish I knew how to post pix on here. I guess I will have to learn how.

The atmosphere has defintely began to decouple here in the last few minutes. I am watching my digital thermometer fall 1/2 a degree every 30 seconds. It has plunged from 46 to 41 in 5 minutes...Incredible!

With such a low dew point, I wonder how low it can go.

To better answer the question of what happened in March and April 1993...I was living in woodinville at the time and have my own records. In March the weather turned very active and fairly cool and we ended up with 4.31 inches of rain. April had rain on all but two days! The total was 7.81 inches, with a couple of days of hail and 3 thunderstorm days and two days of distant lightning. Perhaps history will repeat itself and things will get going good next month. I am still looking for other comparisons to this February and there aren't many. 1942 and 1943 were similar, but I have to look at them more closely. I should have a good list of comparable years and what came after Feb in those years by early next week.

The temp in Covington is unreal tonight! When the wind stops it drops several degrees in a matter of minutes and then goes back up a couple when the wind starts again. It just dropped from 43 to 39 in about three minutes. Amazing what dry air can do for you!

Yet another frosty morning, we are having around 14hrs of subfreezing temps here, that has really stopped the grass at the course from growing, and its why the ponds are frozen so hard.......BRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

Yeah R-Dub sounds coooollllddd!!! The ponds around here are frozen solid as well. They don't melt a bit in the day and the temps are only above freezing from about 9AM to 6PM so that gives a good 15 hours of freezing temps to freeze the ponds even more. I like it... THe low temp in Bellingham was 24 this morning while my low temp was just 28...

Amazing day out there with 49 degrees at 9:30 a.m here in North Bend. I think we are sure bet for 60 degrees today.

I see other temperatures are cooler but rising much faster than previous days.

For example... Kirkland was at 36 degrees yesterday at this time and today they are already to 44 degrees!

Definitely something going on this morning.

Olympia went up 18 degrees in 3 hours!!

From 22 degrees at 7 a.m. to 40 degrees at 10 a.m.

Even Bellingham has almost reached 40 degrees already.

It is now 49.9 degrees here in North Bend.

Hi all. Looking the latest GFS this morning, 00z and 06z keep the dry and mostly sunny weather going through at least the end of this month, while the 12z has it extened into the 3rd of March. 500MB heights on the GFS, UKMET, and ECMWF are fairly high and around 552 to 558DM through the begining of next week, though they do lower somewhat to around 546DM late in the weekend. The GEM is also showing the extened dry period...so depending on what models you look at, there's no real threat of definate showers till about the begining of next month. -- Andy

Ahh, finally mid-winter break!! Another perfect day!! Blue skies with mild temperatures...currently 53F. Each day, it gets a little warmer and warmer.

As for the extended, nothing new. No trough this weekend...maybe a little cooler temperatures as 500 mb heights dip to 540, but back to an offshore flow all of next week and warmer temperatures...possibly approaching 60F by Friday. This weather is almost unbelievable...I think California, Nevada and Arizona are the new PNW.

I'm off to Phoenix tomorrow afternoon and will be there until Thursday. Unfortunately, I probably won't have internet access...and if I do, it will be very limited. So if I don't post for a few days or almost an entire week, don't think I left.

Wanna know the weather for Phoenix this weekend and next week?! Afternoon high temperatures around 60F with mostly cloudy conditions and a 50 percent chance of rain/thunderstorms. Isn't this Seattle?! I almost want to stay in Seattle with all this nice weather.

No sign of a pattern change which we desperately need. Just took a look at the Stevens Pass webcam, and they need a new round of snow...Snoqualmie Pass looks like it's the middle of June. If I didn't know it were February, I'd honestly think it was May.

Anthony... Brennan is going to rip you apart.

This is the dead of winter. His yard is frozen solid. It was below freezing this morning there. The average temperature for the week is way below normal. That all spells miserable cold.

Not spring.

What are you looking at??? All I see is ice and cold!!

Anyways... have fun in Phoenix. We will enjoy Phoenix weather.

This is the pond I was standing on, deepest part of the pond is about 15FT..........

This is a little waterfall we have under a bridge, notice the ice build up.............

This part of the latest discussion is interesting......................

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SEATTLE WA 230 PM PST FRI FEB 18 2005 .

THE RECORD DRY FEBRUARY FOR KSEA IS 0.35 INCHES SET IN 1993 SO THIS WILL NOT BE THE DRIEST FEBRUARY ON RECORD. KSEA HAS RECORDED 0.96 INCHES SO FAR THIS MONTH. THERE IS A CHANCE THAT THE RAINFALL TOTAL FOR THE MONTH WILL BE UNDER AN INCH. IF THIS HAPPENS IT WOULD ONLY BE THE THIRD TIME KSEA HAS RECORDED LESS THAN AN INCH OF RAIN IN FEBRUARY AND ONLY THE FIFTH TIME IN THE HISTORY OF SEATTLE WEATHER RECORDS WHICH GO BACK TO 1891 AT THE FEDERAL BUILDING.
