And lol at the SSW. All the cold air is on the other side of the globe. The SSW stuff is way overhyped.
Dec was always expected to be warm. Anyways I dont need to see 6 degrees to be happy. Lows in the 20s are ideal. The cold is coming though prob not bitter cold as the STJ is too active. The -AO and -EPO will serve to put cold out ahead of these continous waves in the STJ. SSW is legit but all depends on the Pacific to send thr cold down the Plains

The atmosphere didn’t couple with the Pacific in December (SOI). El Nino correlates with negative SOI and we didn’t get that in Dec (which most thought we would). That is changing now, which will lower heights and activate the southern storm track. The daily SOI numbers should give us a good indication of where this is headed.

Also, way too early to know impacts of SSW, it just now split today and can take weeks to impact surface. All indications are it’s propagating downward which is always difficult to model. We should know much more this time next week

Allan Huffman is a pretty smart meteorologist whom I have followed online for a few years. He had an interesting tweet a little bit ago regarding the Euro Weeklies. Something for us to watch for in the days ahead ...

I am as frustrated as anyone on here. To have borderline temps with moisture for this long is agonizing torture. But come on winter lovers, all is not lost!!!! We've got two solid months of winter remaining. Like Portastorm said, watch out the next few days. We kill ourselves with daily run to run model watching shaving off precious days and weeks of our lives in the process, decreasing our life expectancy. It is stressful at times. Let the players on the field have time to gel and in about a week we should start to see a pattern to drool over. I do not foresee an extended warm spell anytime soon maybe slightly above with periodic rain until the real winter shows up. And then watch out. Some players are showing up in the long range already, just gotta wait it out!!!!! :cold: :cold:

The stars at night are big and bright, clap, clap, clap, clap. Deep in the heart of Texas.

Where it don't snow even when the models show, clap, clap, clap, clap. Deep in the heart of Texas.....

So don't despair or pull out your hair, just pop another Xanax!!!!!

Maybe what all this means is Dallas will win the Super Bowl. Dak has been QB for three years. No snow in Dallas for three years. We are God's Team. Book it, Super Bowl Champs and 2ft of snow the same weekend as the Super Bowl after we win it.

Kind of funny looking at the advisory the put up. It looks maybe 10 miles wide. It's like hitting the lottery.

A little batch of snow is making it's way through Denton County according to WFAA radar. I wonder if it will have enough muscle to make it to Dallas County? HockeyTX82, do you see anything?

I'm up and been staring out my window. Nothing yet.

I think it's going just north of me, I'm at 156 and 2449, SE corner.

Radar says it right on top of of me now, I see nothing falling, stepped outside for a better look too.
