It will be interesting to watch how far SW the snow line gets. Surface temps do seem to be running below GFS and even NAM values for whatever that is worth.

Fox 4 Evan Andrews just showed a graphic showing the heaviest precipitation, in Denton and Collin counties, was melting sleet and snow. Not surprised.

That would make some sense, high reflectivity there and Ft Worth as cold air is rushing in. This area of precip over DFW is the beginning of the big deformation band blizzard for areas east.

No snow reported anywhere across N Texas. FWD is doing a Special 18Z balloon launch shortly in support of the East Coast Nor'easter and is curious to see what that upper air data actually is.

The EWX office had a write-up on Facebook yesterday about the special balloon launchings around Texas to help feed data into the supercomputers to more accurately figure out what the storm will do on the east coast. Pretty cool!

A major winter storm will be impacting portions of the eastern U.S. Friday and Saturday. Did you know that National Weather Service Offices in Texas are helping by launching special weather balloons? The extra weather data from these balloons will help computer models and forecasters on the east coast better predict the track and impacts of the winter storm system. ‪#‎txwx‬

Temps in my area have fallen 8-10 degrees in the last couple hours,now in the 38-40 range. Forecast from this morning was for low 50s. This is lower than all models even the hi-res ones which always makes for excitement wen there is precip around. I am hoping that the area over DFW will stay far enough south to clip me later today.

Yep, areas to the NE (Texarkana, Little Rock) will get that advantage tonight.

Apparently February and March are better snow months for Ohio. I also found out that we've seen a 1 foot storm in DFW more recently than in Central Ohio their last one was in 2008. Central Ohio just isn't in a good spot for 12+ inch storms.

We are all accepting and the current societal structure allows for no exclusion of anyone, no matter how repulsive the rest of us might think certain lifestyles are.
