current temp here in dt ftw is 36 with a dew point of 30, with any evaporative cooling the lower levels with be close to freezing soon, soon as precip starts making it to the ground you know the atmoshpere is primed for snow

The temp topped out here at around 39, but now it's coming down at 38. I imagine it's just the beginning of the process.

If that baby verifies, :froze: :froze: :froze: :froze: :froze: for the whole nation west of the Rockies and we'd have a January to remember.

For us cold weather lovers---- the trend is our friend! :cold:

Hopefully you meant East of the Rockies??? :D

Yes.....  I meant EAST! I wish I was spending sometime next week WEST of the Rockies in Pasadena, CA but oh well.........

Can't wait to see if the next Euro says something similar. GFS has latched on to next weeks pattern for a few days now.

Good luck with your studies Msstateguy83 ( I am assuming you are in the Broadcast Meteorology Program...or I am way off). Back on topic, I see the radar and you are totally right about the moisture moving in.

The wind is forecasted to be coming from the south and southeast. Majority of the time, when that happens in Texas, you will see temperatures start to rise. I don't know if I've ever seen it snow in Texas with the wind south of 90 degrees. We shall see.

why on earth would you be in Pasadena, CA around 1/7/10? I will be there as well if everything goes according to schedule. What event could bring such like-minded people to the same place at the same time? Destiny, thats what.

42 in Arlington with a light south breeze. Forecast high was 37.... Rapid warm up this a.m. though ahead of the system. Need precip soon before we flirt with 50. LOL.
