SLEET AND SOME SNOW HAVE BEEN REPORTED FROM EASTLAND TO COMANCHE
TO LAMPASAS AND SALADO/TEMPLE. LOWER LEVELS OF THE ATMOSPHERE ARE
STILL QUITE DRY OVER THE NORTHEASTERN HALF OF THE CWA...AND
CURRENT RADAR ECHOES AROUND THE METROPLEX ARE NOT REACHING THE

SNOW/SLEET IS EXPECTED TO SPREAD NORTHWARD ACROSS THE
CWA. PRECIP WILL BE REACHING THE METROPLEX BY MID AFTERNOON AND
THE RED RIVER AREAS BY LATE AFTERNOON. PRECIP SHOULD CONTINUE
THROUGH THE EVENING AND OVERNIGHT HOURS.
NO MAJOR FORECAST UPDATES NEEDED. WILL CONTINUE WINTER WEATHER
ADVISORY AS IS.

Also 4 degrees above the forecast high in the Frisco area.

Re: Texas winter wx thread (2009-2010)
these are dumb questions, but can the temp drop below the dewpoint? i always thought that when it was reached fog formed but I could be completey off. What needs to happen to get the dewpoint to drop?
I see 34 and snow at Breck with a dewpoint of 33. I understand the levels above all being cold enough to support snow. Are they just deeper cold layers than a 34 and rain?

It will be very difficult for any snow to accumulate with a southerly wind direction.

Fort Worth, Meacham International Airport
Lat: 32.83 Lon: -97.35 Elev: 687
Last Update on Dec 29, 12:53 pm CST
Light Rain
37 °F
(3 °C) Humidity: 82 %
Wind Speed: Calm
Barometer: 30.32" (1027.1 mb)
Dewpoint: 32 °F (0 °C)
Visibility: 8.00 mi.
Temp holding at 37 but dew point went up from 30 to 32, so the best we can get is 32. Warm nose from the south is really jacking things up, still feel we'll see some snow fall but not much more than 1 to 1.5 inches on the grassy surfaces.
