Does next week look like a snow event for the DFW area or not? I've missed every snow event this winter!

I can't get too excited/concerned about the long-term prospects just yet

After all, it is December 29th. We were supposed to have a low of 13F and a high of only about 26F today - remember ???

We will see...ECMWF was going single digits this Sunday N. TX a few runs ago, and that isn't going to verify.

I think you folks in north Texas have a long ways to go before you can call this particular storm a complete bust.
We have temps in the 40's down here and this radar shows a wintry mix cutting half way into Harris county, which is probably incorrect, still nice to see.

Snow here in Denton. Maybe some rain still mixed in but snow for sure. Not sticking to anything yet, but it is coming down at a good clip.

We are now ALL SNOW here in Midlothian - with BIG FLAKES. I would say MODERATE SNOW as Visibility seems to be about a mile?

Someone tell me if I am wrong.

Somehow I guess I missed that because I've gone back and looked at all Euro runs on the ECMWF site through last Saturday (Dec. 26) and don't see any suggestion via the 500mb flow of single digits in North Texas. My guess is that would require cross-polar flow and an almost due north-to-south 500mb flow into Texas. I didn't see that on any run.

Do you remember which model run you saw it on? Was the scenario repeated then in other model runs or was it a one-off? Just curious.

We just had a bust of pretty good snow that started to collect on the cars outside - then back to light/moderate snow again.

One thing interesting - I can't remember the last time wind was from the south and it was snowing.
