Is there any correlation between number of ice/snow events and colder than average temps with the likelihood of more severe storms in the spring (in strength and number) ??
I am asking because I would guess that cold air aloft persisting well into the spring would bring more instability.....

Changed over to all snow by the airport. Wet flakes, would be good snowmen making type should it stick as compared to last week's lol

The Mt. Peak water supply tower is less than a half mile from my house. It is barely visible through the snow field.
I think we might have a mix of snow and drizzle or fog?

El Nino winters trend to be colder and wetter for the south and stormier and more severe in the spring

northeast garland, all rain, temps have only dropped by .4 of a degree in the last 3 hrs...
temp 40.6 blahh
time to move to KS i think, get the best of both worlds, winter snow and spring storms!

Re: Texas winter wx thread (2009-2010)
Decent lt snow falling by six flags. Still way too warm for anything to stick. I think it's even melting on contact with the few left-over patches on the ground from last week. LOL.

The tail end of the precip looks to be coming fast again, but they seem to think this will last till 10-12 at night. Is it slowing down? I ask because the temps are really falling now, and within 45 minutes or so this will probably be sicking some could get a decent amount of accumulation, but it looks like it might be winding down just as it starts to stick.

Vertical snow is nice. You can go out into it without having it slap you in the face lol
