The shorter range SREF/HRRR and even the NAM/4km WRF have been suggesting the chance of light freezing precip as far S as central Texas tonight into early tomorrow.

How far south? And what is the timeframe for precip and type of precip it is suggesting?

I wouldn't worry about anything like freezing drizzle in Austin as we should stay above freezing in the city.

Freezing drizzle here in GP. Moved my car so my wife could pull out of the garage(she is going to church, I am watching the Cowboys  ) and my car had a thin, solid glaze on it. The moisture seems to be more than what was thought.

Most likely freezing drizzle, that's what almost everyone else is seeing in the FWD CWA.

Agree. Just checked their NWS site and it reports "unknown precip".

We have been talking about it. Not specifics like snow for an area, but srain, ports, myself and various others have been harping about a storm system coming along with a major front. Each run is a little different however the gist of things have trended towards the idea.

Could someone get lucky and squint for some snowflakes?

Hadn't been paying too much attention to today's front and its subsequent impact, but I'll tell you what ... we're down to 35 degrees with light drizzle here at the PWC. I wasn't expecting it to get that cold that quickly. Adding drizzle to the mix does raise an eyebrow if temps keep falling.

I believe it. Like I said, temps are lower than progged. You should report that to NWS Austin/San Antonio. They were thinking that the drying would be strong enough to prevent any freezing precip in the area.

Meanwhile, I'm seeing reports as well that some de-icing of planes is going on at DFW airport.
