It's not showing up on there, but we might be picking LES off of Lavon here, IMBY. We are actually getting decent flakes now vs. the needles and prisms earlier.

Liquid drizzle in Holly Lake (Wood co) 18F. This could be bad.

Just got done taking out the Golden for the night. Looks like we got some Freezing Drizzle here in Far Northern Bexar County. Got a thin layer of ice on my truck.

I wonder what the missing ingredient for snow in SA is? It’s been steady at 29° all day until nightfall. I’m guessing not enough moisture plus a warm layer up above.

Latest HRRR sounding shows a huge, warm, dry layer down there. It's saturated below that, so that's where the drizzle is probably coming from.

Ahh, well that explains it. Oh well, I guess we’ll have better luck for snow next Winter.

Cosgrove likes the late January and all of February time frame for similar setups like we've been seeing.

Just experienced some of that lake effect at the big airport. Coming off of Lewisville and Grapevine. Blowing light snow…

Finally got some flurries/light snow. Can’t tell if it’s from the lake effect…maybe. But at least something.

Been getting flurries since about 5:30... a decent coating on the car.

Looks like more snowbands are setting up in the panhandles near I-40. Round 2?

Summer's for hibernation, Winter’s my vacation

Don't use my posts as forecast, I'm a complete meteorology noob! I just like cold weather, alright?

All observations I post are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

Still light snow falling, rooftops are covered, cars have a glaze, streets are dry, and snow just blows right off.

Off and on sleet showers with flurries in between. Temp 16F. Minor accumulations from this ongoing all day. Rates are increasing so I'm sure I'll wake up to maybe half inch of mix.
