Side note......Last nights episode of "24" was the first one of this season that I saw, and it looks like I picked a great one to start watching. Plus I got the gist of what has happened over the past season by that one episode which is incredible since usually you have to watch it from the beggining to understand what is happening..........

Anyway back to the weather, currently at 11:15AM its Partly Cloudy with a temp of 61.5 degrees

Looks like there were some record high temps broken yesterday with I am sure more to come today.

Another side note, it was 26 degrees when I left Moses Lake this morning at 6:00AM They are expecting a high of around 76, that is a 50 degree difference :eek:

Good afternoon all. And welcome back, Randy! Sorry to hear that your not feeling to well. Hope you and your mom get better soon!

Quite a nice day here in Woodinville so far despite some mid-level clouds riding over atop a ridge of high pressure. Looking at the visable satellite loop right now, areas to the North and West of me are a bit overcast to cloudy skies, while the Southern portion of Wa, including the SW Wa. coast have mostly sunny skies. My temp as of 12:02pm is 65.7 degrees with humidity 53% and DP 48. Baro is 30.00 and steady.

Hi guys!

Despite maybe having a few light showers tomorrow, the 6z and 12z GFS shows a big ridge of high pressure setting up from the 10th through the 15th, but also turning a bit cooler. The 16th and onward is looking rather wet at times with systems coming in about every day and half or so. Am not really seeing any kind of zonal flow in the longer range outlook.

Sounds like the cold and the wet keeps getting pushed back. The story of this entire winter. The GFS still can't figure out this weather past a few days. :roll:

Keep bringing the warm then! If its not going to be wet and cold, might as well be warm and dry 8-)

Up to 68. If the clouds hold off for a little while longer I should be able to reach 70.

The big change is still being shown very strongly by all of the models. It's about time, I must say. It would appear that once it changes, any trace of the pattern we have seen this entire winter will be gone! It still remains to be seen just how cold it may get early next week.

On another note...Thanks to Don Sutherland refreshing my memory about the PDO, I made a fantastic discovery about why our winters have been so wimpy for the past 25 years. Believe it or not we have not had a single winter month where the PDO, AO, and PNA were all negative at the same time, since 1979 - 80. The past is clear that when all three are negative at the same time, we get cold WITH SNOW. It is very interesting that the past two winters have both come closer to having all three indicies negative than any winter since 1979 - 80. The running averages for the PNA and AO are dropping, and Don thinks the PDO could go persistently negative at any time. We are closing in on it folks!

The change is looking pretty wimpy... but I will take anything that ends up in a zonal flow.

An amazing 73 degrees here now!!

That is a typical summer day.

Up to 65 degrees here, but it seems cool after being in Moses Lake for the last couple of days.

Sure hope your right about the big picture snowiz! Would be awesome to go back into a phase like we had in the 50's-70's or even before the 50's. Where almost every winter back then had storms and cold like 1985, 1990, 1996 or more and longer periods then those events. The weather is getting quite dull around here :roll:

In the mean time, enjoy the warmth 8-)

Up to 71 here at my house while Renton is up to 69 and Seattle 65. As much as I like cold and snow, it's hard to want it with a day so warm out.

EDIT: When you look at the Covington schoolnet site http://www.instaweather.com/KING/defaul ... 0&id=covin it has replaced wind chill with heat index (same with North Bend and I'm sure a few others). Anyone know why it does that?

I still think the changes next week are going to be quite dramatic. The GFS is showing that the 500mb - 1000mb thickness will plunge by 270 meters by day 5. That is a crash no matter how you slice it!

Right now early next week looks like a seasonable days cold nights regime, and then the block collapses.

By the way...the ECMWF continues to be more emphatic on the cold than the GFS...interesting. If we could have any kind of luck at all (other than bad), next week could still get really cold, but for now I am going to be moderate on that.

This pic shows how low this lake gets in the winter, they fill it in the spring for the farmers irrigation needs. This is my jetski ramp that is mostly under water in the summer.......

Yep...A baroclinic band stalled off the coast equals amazing warmth. This weather is out of control this year! I hope the flip side is equally amazing the other way!

That Covington school net site is wrong. I need to tell someone about that. I have 68 here. None of my thermometers says 70 and that says it hit 75!

We hit 77 degrees on my thermometer before "cooling" off now to 75.2 degrees.
