They underestimated how cold it would get down here. Now saying that we will get down to 22F tomorrow night.

The wind chill made it colder! My fingers were so cold they felt like they were burning.

Good lord. I organized some folks to help outdoors at the lake next weekend telling them the highs looked to be near 70. Since then these are the last 8 or so gfs runs for noon Saturday.

Thankfully my desk is facing the window so I will report if/when we start seeing flurries in Tyler. I may work from home (Hideaway) this afternoon to have a better chance at seeing some.

Here you can see the sleet sticking to the hood of my truck. And the icicles forming on the overhang at work. :cold:

Fox 4 Evan Andrews mentioned the flurries in Tarrant County are lake effect snow from winds blowing off of Lakes Grapevine and Lewisville. Pretty cool. Buffalo has nothing on DFW!!!

It's 24° here in Tyler, cloudy and no precip falling at this time. Radar shows us naturally in between snow to the north and sleet to the south. Nothing for us...yet I hope.

Wxman57, you think Houston metro is in trouble for today? Dewpoint is still dropping. Hard enough rain and we could get below 32. Really tough forecast today. Sleet looks very like, super warm around 5000ft.
My dewpoint is at 31 btw. Still dropping.

I don't think we'll see problems within BW-8. North of Houston, might see some freezing rain stick to bridges/overpasses near Huntsville.

They're still blooming. They can take very cold temps, but I have a bunch of bananas that are just about ripe that I need to take down in the back yard.

orangeblood, I don't know. That would go against pretty much everything I am seeing on the models and social media comments from the national "experts." Seems like we're in for a several week period of anomalous warmth. That being said, I know you look at these things closely and you often pick up on stuff that most of the rest of us don't see. So, I hope you're right! :D

Getting moderate sleet with a thin glaze of ice developing on elevated metal surfaces in NW Harris County now.
